On the subject of bonus tracks on Special Edition issues of new releases. Is that a merketing technique, or just giving the more rabbid fans a little extra? Anyway I liked it better when those types of songs were used to spice up a Greatest Hits packege with a few "New Songs" along with some remixes.

A real music collection is priceless.... "They" will tell you anything to keep you Shopping.

On gatefolds I'll cut the hype sticker out and put inside the outer sleeve. Singles I leave intact as much as possible. Killer Royal Blood record BTW!

The TV commercials for the records got you pumped! There was one that featured Joe Simon and Millie Jackson “Super Bad is Back”. It’s uploaded here on YT. Aside from KTEL there were those other (seemingly local) TV Lp compilations you could get in the mail… My favorite was “British Cats and Others” I waited 6 weeks but it finally came, I relish my copy to this day!

I joined the Music Club at least twice, and the Video Club once. In Canada, CD's could go from 18-25 bucks, and VHS tapes could go upwards to around 35 bucks. I paid up my account for the most part, but I'm sure I still owed them a few dollars when they went under.

Unrelated to music...Am I the only person that thinks Makers Mark is the worst and most over rated bourbon ever? :P Oh and congrats on the weight loss and health gain. :D

How do you keep track of your records Do you know what record is on what shelf

I own about 70% of the albums on this list. My prized album being a first issue of "Sticky Fingers" in mint condition. I may be one of the few that doesn't own a copy of "Dark Side of the Moon", I just don't like it. I would have "The Wall" or "Wish You Were Here" instead.

I wonder why the Anno Domini box set didn't include 1987 "Eternal Idol" album. You would think that all the Tony Martin era albums should be in the set. "Eternal Idol" has some great songs on it, a few of my favorites are "The Shining", "Hard Life to Love" and "Born to Lose". To me the box set is incomplete without that album.

I have owned "Dookie" since it came out and have never really looked at the cover. Maybe it's because I have the CD and I don't pour over CD's like I do albums. The Rush Easter Eggs I'm familiar with as I'm a huge Rush fan and own all their albums on vinyl. Thanks Frank!

Just came across this! What an experience to have, getting to play an 8 track! Grew up in the 70s and 80s ( born 66), where my stepfather played them often. I've been thinking about adding some to my collection. Loved this!!

i have a big colection of 80´s metal bands that i liked and after ozzy or ossie only ronnie james dio made a great black sabbath album ,others don´t have any feeling like ian gillian that i bought the album put it to play once and never ever i played it again ,deep purple was fine but his voice in bLACK SABBATH DIDN´T LOOK or sound like balck sabbath, judas priest is also a great band but in early 80´s were all starting the genre so to speak as i do like late deep purple albuns as "Burn" with david coverdable and it´s live album with the cover of "ain´t no love in the heart of the city" when R.Glover left the band and ian paice and john lord still there it started to call them selves whitesnake who i find very god it´s first two albums, about ties i remenber a magazine in the 80´s(maybe hammer metal) with a huge tree of liasons between musicians and bands of the 70´s

Yea. An upside down cross can turn your stomach so to speak. With "Kill 'Em All" (1983) from METALLICA, I think it's a case of what you "don't see" being more frightening than what you "could see." I always found "Conspiracy" (1989) from KING DIAMOND to be a frightening album. HONORABLE MENTION goes to "Hell Awaits" (1985) from SLAYER. "Shout At the Devil" (1983) from MOTLEY CRUE is good.

Well, even the 1986 "Peace Sells, But Who's Buying?" album/CD from MEGADETH had a disturbing cover. It showed the W.T.C. in flames.

Scary to say that my Technics SL-B202 is over 40 years old now. Yikes. New belt upgraded the RCA and ground cables. Put a fantastic Ortofon 2m red and it is fantastic sounding. What I am toying with is opening the chassis up again and lining it with sound damping material (the sticky type) that should kill any resonance coming thru to the stylus. Will see if there is any improvement with that. It is a semi automatic turntable will all the adjustments. Don't think I would care for a manual one.

zerostat gun. Takes an amazing amount of static off the record. Originally had one way back in the early 80's. Lost is in all the moves. So happy to get another one.

The Satan on Mob Rules is incorrect but yes at the bottom it does say Kill Ozzy. I spoke to Greg Hildebrandt about this at a convention. The art was not created for this album. It was a painting that Greg did. The Kill Ozzy and I guess first appearance of Dio's Henry was added by someone else. Greg doesn't know who did it. You can find Greg's original painting on line. You will notice those two things are not on there.
